First off, I need to apologize for my lack of posting. Here I go, starting up a blog my junior year [that was my first mistake], promising tons and tons of blog posts [second mistake] and I can barely post once a week. FEEL FREE TO SHUN ME! [I would shun me too...]
Second off, to those of you who continue to read my blog [someone out there must...anyone?] I really appreciate it. I know that after a day of classes, reading other peoples blogs really relaxes me. Hopefully somewhere between my horrible music taste, meaningless content and dry sense of humor you get a little entertainment in [it's okay to laugh at me instead of with me]. I'd just like to say that November-January are the hardest weeks for me and it'll start looking up when February rolls around.
I've got some very excited news!! This April, I will be doing some international traveling and I am SO excited! I'll be heading off to Poland and then to England. Needless to say, I'm so excited even though this isn't my first international trip, and if anyone has any tips they'd like to share about the weather or anything, I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT.
I'll include a polyvore that I made of my "touring" outfit [really I should shove on some nikes and sweats, but i refuse to be the sloppy American that the world thinks we are!!!]
I hope everyone is dealing with life alright these days. Some days I definitely want to hide under my covers and pretend it's not time to wake up, [ "What? My alarm went off? Nonsense."] others...I can sort of roll out of bed. Well, what do the wise men say? 75% of life is just showing up? Maybe I should use that line when applying to colleges...think they'll buy it? ;D

Oh Dear
Well, this week has been insane [to put it nicely]. I found myself up past 1 every night because of hours of homework and then rising between 5-7 the next morning. I must say that I am completely and totally exhausted. It feels like I just posted on the blog yesterday, except it was actually days ago [shame on me]. I think after the end of the month my schedule will be dying down a lot and I might be able to eat, blog and sleep at least a few times a week. I pwomise I will be better nwext week :D
Anywhoo, for those Jersey Shore, fans out there Ronnie got arrested! The shores resident sensitive, self-proclaimed "guito" got thrown in jail for a few hours for punching someone in the noggin. He was let out a few hours later and nothing big happened afterwards except for his explanation of why he went on the "attack". Wonder what his sweetiepoo Sammi has to say about this...
Over the weekend I purchased a Killers CD with a montage of 30 of their best songs [im in love]. That's my biggest purchase [and did i mention i used a gift card?]. I'll be sure to be interesting sometime this week and do something other then calc. homework and chemistry. Girls just wanna have fun, right? ;D

Oh la la
As I said in my earlier posts, my Christmas holiday was fabulous. I have such a wonderful, caring family and I am beyond grateful to have everyone in my life healthy and safe. I hope most of you felt the same way about your holiday.
I have a few really nice purses because when it comes to bags, I prefer quality over quantity [I never buy purses full price because I'm broke most of the time]. When it comes to clothing, I like quantity [except in outerwear] but I like to have a few expensive pairs of jeans and a few expensive wool/cashmere sweaters. Most of the time I buy my clothes from Forever21, Marshalls, T.J. Maxx, Target, and Nordstrom. When I have money I'll go to some websites like net-a-porter, topshop, etc. I really don't use Sephora for makeup because I can't justify spending $20 on eyeshadow [if it's a color I use daily or foundation/face powder, then I will splurge occasionally]. Overall I'm careful with my money [except buying coffee is a weakness] and my parents have taught me how to be conscientious when it comes to saving [unfortunately, I tend to "forget" about that advice and if I spot a sale, I may start foaming from the mouth.. -.-]
This year, my mom was a ferocious [more life 5'1, 100lb] bargain shopper. Because of her "ferociousness" I got lovely gifts and I am so excited to get some wear out of them. I'm used to buying everything with my own money, so I look forward to a few free goodies during the holiday season [that sounds incredibly shallow but it's true, JUDGE ME]. My mom went to the outlets that are a few hours away, with some friends and they did most of their holiday shopping there. She also has a pal in retail who scored that killer Marc Jacobs bag [I think she paid around $250 for it!!@#$%@!~]. At the J.Crew outlet, the jewelry was on a major sale, [something like 30-50% off?] and the ae coat was around $50 [I really wanted a coat like this for mucking around in]. The Marc Jacobs Lola perfume was my sisters, but her boyfriend also got it for her, so I get this one [YIPEE<3]. The Frye boots were the most expensive gift I got this year, but I gave my mom a bit of dog sitting money that I had kept aroundso we ended up splitting them, around $150 each [yes...I dog sit] . I love them and I'm going to wear them everyday for the rest of my life [they'll have to pry them off my cold, wrinkled, yellow feet when I'm dead].
Overall, I'm really happy with everything I got and I owe my mom a lot [maybe, if I'm feeling really generous, I should make her one of those "kid coupon" booklets that include things like "one free day of cleaning" "four complimentary bathroom cleanings" ;D][kidding! ....sort of]. Feel free to share what you got for the holidays, or what you hope to get some day in the future!

I got soul but I'm not a soldier
Over the break, I've been revisiting a few of my former music flings and I stumbled upon a few of The Killers earlier songs. I'm completely obsessed. Previously, I thought they were overplayed and full of tween angst. Now I'm smitten. It's not that I think they're amazing musicians with incredible talent, more like I appreciate them at this point in my life. All These Things That I've Done, Dust Land Fairytale, When You Were Young, Read My Mind and Human are my favorites right now [I also love bopping around to their Girls Just Wanna Have Fun cover... o.O]. Honestly, I'm not knowledgeable or opinionated when it comes to "cool" music. Music isn't a large part of my life; I use my iPod when I'm traveling or I can't sleep. I never understood people who were really into music, that "mUsiK iZ mAh LyFee@#@!!" attitude was never mine [if that's yours...power to ya]. Most of my music taste is random and ridiculous, based on what other people give me.I'll avoid bringing it up in my blog because I know many people take music very seriously and I don't feel like getting someones knickers in a twist over the real meaning of Barbie Girl.
There is one more artist that I'd like to bring up, Amanda Palmer. Ms. Palmer is fabulous [in my eyes]. I think her music is fun. My favorites are Blake Says and Astronaut. I don't think her style is as timeless as The Killers, but I enjoy it for the time being.
If anyone has any favorite artists or songs, please let me know! I love listening to other peoples favorite songs [as long as I like the song...lawlz ;)]

Well folks, I'm sorry for the long break I took!! Since Christmas I've been indulging [mentally and physically] and at this point I'm freaking out because I have school on Monday. My Christmas holiday was really lovely, and I hope everyone's holiday season went as smoothly as mine. I did get a bunch of things that I was hoping for, and a few unexpected things as well [I like being surprised]. Maybe later tonight I'll make a bit of a collage of a few of my favorite items.
Hmm, whats new, whats new...
Well, I stayed in the city for a few days and I was lovely. I live very close to NYC, so sometimes I don't appreciate it as much as I should, but it happens to be my ultimate, favorite place during the holiday season. For its reputation of being such a large, busy, bossy city, they have the most glorious holiday decorations and such. While I was there I did some fabulous shopping and drank way too much coffee [the weather was quite chilly so I found myself refilling my cup constantly]. Overall, I love NYC and I'll be applying to Columbia in the fall [let's keep our fingers crossed].
I'm happy to say my New Years Eve was very uneventful. This year I decided to trade in my friends for my dog, some popcorn, mineral water and lifetime movies [all of which I thoroughly enjoyed]. How did everyones New Year go? I'm still thinking of a few resolutions I can put into action for 2010, any ideas?
I'll be making a few more posts since I don't want this to be one mamoth blurb of boring-ness, so stick around : D

Christmas Eve!
Merry Christmas Eve to all you Catholics out there!
I'm very busy today, but I just wanted to give a quick review on something. Last year my sister got me these hand wipes [and face wipes] from bath and body works; they're Rosemary Mint scented. Anywhoo, I didn't use them for awhile but I found them last week in my bathroom and I decided to give them a try. I use the face wipes before Volleyball because I like to take off all my face makeup because sweating in makeup just really grosses me out [plus I’d like to NOT have a face full of blackheads]. They work so well! I like that they're easy to use, and you don't need to splash your face with water after you use them [unless you want to]. I know a lot of other face makeup removing wipes you need to use water with, which can be a pain if you don't want to have raccoon eyes. Then yesterday I was really tired and the hand wipes were in my purse and I didn't feel like washing my face [EWWW, GROSSS!!] so I was like 'hey, I’m going to use these hand wipes'. So I did, AND I REALLY LIKE THEM! I don't recommend using them on a regular basis because they're meant for your hands, but it was nice to see that I had the option if I was ever in a pinch. They left my skin kind of tingly from the mint and definitely clean. I was surprised that my face didn't get red or bumpy from them because I have such a sensitive face, so that was really nice.
I looked online at the website and I can't seem to find them, but maybe they're only in stores? They come in a grayish/brownish plastic "pouch" and they're by Bath and Body Works.
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas/ Happy Holiday season. I might do a quick rundown of some of my favorite gifts tomorrow and probably a bunch of pointless posts because I'll have a lot of free time.

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus
This snowy weather has resulted in poor traveling conditions [which means another day spent with my nose in various cookie tins]. Instead of going shopping, my mom and I have decided to make this amazing bread we have for breakfast on Christmas morning. It's a risen bread with lots of candied fruits, which were soaked in rum [delicious!]. Hopefully I won't scarf down too many goodies today, I've already had some scrumptious whole milk yogurt, cereal, a whole wheat roll, a truffle and a massive handful of Carmel corn [SOMEONE CUT ME OFF!!!] Does your family have any interesting Holiday traditions? [aka: GIVE ME DELICIOUS RECIPES!]
One more rant of the day...
My apologies if you're really into hauls [and looking at everything I own in my closet]. If that's you, I want to come out and say I'm against doing "hauls" [wait! don't feed me to the wolves yet!] I feel that hauls are just bragging. I think that it's different when you buy something really special and you'd like to share it with everyone, or you want to show something you got at some super sale, or if you're doing a review on an item. Those are productive hauls and they make sense. People like to see what other people buy. I get it. In my opinion, I just feel awkward sitting in front of my camera saying 'I bought this top for 45 dollars, blahblahblah it is soooo cool'. I DO really like hauls of vintage clothing. The clothing is unique and it's fun to see something you won't find at F21, HM, Top Shop, UO, etc. Posting a few pictures of items recently purchased isn't horrible. A video is overkill.
